HIV/AIDS Prevention & Education/ HIV/AIDS Case Management

Our signature program is HIV/AIDS & STD prevention education which includes education forums, townhall meetings, community outreach as it pertains to bringing awareness to women & girls about these topics.

Over the last 10 years NCNW View Park has been a partnering organization with the National Black HIV AIDS Awareness Day Coalition Los Angeles. The focus of the organization is to increase HIV/AIDS community awareness, involvement and education among marginalized populations. NCNW VP annually coordinates educational workshops and seminars for women & youth in observance of February 7th National Black HIV AIDS Awareness Day.

Rock the Red Pumps or Tie

March 10, 2012 - Inaugural Benefit Campaign "Kick Off' Challenge to enlist affiliates and partnering organizations to disseminate HIV Prevention information to their perspective social organization – this event is held in conjunction and observation of National Women And Girls HIV Awareness Day – this will be an annual event with a trophy going to the person reaching the highest number of individuals in a calendar year – All women are asked to wear Red Pumps – Men are asked to wear red ties

 

Phoenix Leadership Academy for Girls

NCNW in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles Summer Night Lights Program presents a 10 week summer leadership academy for girls who reside in the Housing Developments of Nickerson Gardens, Jordan Downs Housing and Imperial Courts. The leadership academy provides classes on social etiquette, education, history, being a girl, table setting, health and wellness, yoga, art, language, conflict resolution, dance, fashion and arts and crafts. Average age is 8 – 14 years of age.

 

Education Advocacy

View Park host educational forums to educate parents on the quality of the education system and announce opportunities available for our children - We are a collaborative partner with the Los Angeles Parent Revolution as we work toward improving the quality of education offered in Los Angeles City and County Schools Ongoing

 

Bethune Recognition Luncheon

This event is celebrated in all jurisdictions of NCNW and supports the work of our National Organization and Council Headquarters in Washington DC - Held October each year
